Judge A judicial officer whose function is to adjudicate on matters brought before a court for decision. In Australia, only those who preside over intermediate or superior courts are generally classified as judges. The title of Judge is applied to judges of the intermediate courts, while the title of justice is reserved for judges of the superior state courts and all federal courts.
